Specifications

Type MC cable meets or exceeds all applicable ASTM Specifications, UL Standard 1569, UL Standard 1581, UL Standard 83, Federal Specification A-A-59544 and requirements of the National Electrical Code® (NFPA 70).

Construction

Type MC cable is constructed with cabled copper conductors (Type THHN/THWN-2). The assembly is wrapped with polypropylene tape, and covered with interlocking aluminum armor.

Applications

Type MC Cable is suitable for use as feeder and service power distribution in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings; power, lighting, control, and signal circuits; fished or embedded in plaster; concealed or exposed installations; environmental air-handling spaces; Places of Assembly and theaters; as aerial cable on a messenger; installation in cable tray and approved raceways; and under raised floors for information technology equipment conductors and cables. Voltage rating for all applications not to exceed 600 volts.
